FleetVision AI
A computer-vision driver-safety analytics system. FleetVision AI applies marketing-analytics methodology, instrumentation, event modeling, and measurement, to a real-world safety dataset. It detects 9 driver-behavior categories on a serverless AWS stack.
Built as the capstone for the MS in Marketing Analytics (course MKT 7970). It is currently running a single-vehicle pilot on the founder's own 2017 Toyota Camry. It is a working research and demonstration system, not a commercially sold fleet product.

Eye aspect ratio analysis detects drowsiness and micro-sleep episodes in real time, logging an event before sustained attention loss.
👀 Distraction
Head-pose estimation via facial landmarks flags sustained off-road gaze events that exceed configurable thresholds.

Mouth landmark geometry monitors jaw-open distance to detect repeated yawning as an early-stage fatigue indicator.
⚡ Speeding
OBD-II and GPS telemetry flags speed-threshold events and generates time-stamped, audit-ready records.
💥 Collision Warning
Forward proximity signals combined with speed data flag tailgating and sudden-deceleration events.
🛣️ Lane Departure
Telemetry combined with pose landmarks detects unintended lane drift and swerving, logging events to the dashboard.
🔓 Seatbelt Off
Pose landmark geometry checks for seatbelt strap presence across the shoulder and torso region on every journey.

GPS-based inter-vehicle spacing with event-triggered alerts when safe following margins are breached at speed.

The FleetVision dashboard includes a built-in compliance assistant. It answers natural-language questions about FMCSA regulations and the project's own event history, using vector search and a large language model. This is the analytics-and-retrieval research component of the capstone.
